On the Road....

Today, April 15, 2011, I drove to our house from town. I  just got my permit so now I'm trying to practice my driving. ;) My mom looked like she was about to faint for fear. hahaha! But I'm sure she'll be okay after a while.

I am sooo excited...I can't wait to drive again!

Planning, Preparing and etc....

Whew! This month has flown by with preparations for my graduation, a planning day for an audio drama and for the WWI speech day. Wow! It's so much! Not to mention I'm leaving for Ohio in May!

I wish I had more time to sit and write out all my thoughts on my blog. I'm so bad about it now. Someday maybe. :)

Youth Meeting February 2011

Though not the first (January was) one, this was a very special youth meeting to my family. The reason being that we had just come back from Phoenix for a wonderful event.

At the Sandra Day O'Connor United States District Court my dad became a United States citizen!

As a celebration, my mom made a wonderful dessert with strawberry red "stripes", blueberries as the blue field...and white frosting to fill it in with all the "stars" and white "stripes". It was quite delicious! mmm! I loved the taste. It wasn't too sweet or too plain. I especially loved the strawberries!

Brother Russell read the certificate aloud so everyone could hear and know that my dad was now a citizen. :)

In addition to the Bible study that we did (Zachary W. was leader this time), we had games and a bonfire. It was rather windy outside so it made it hard to stand without my skirt blowing around. :/ But is sure was fun!

Inside the house there was Dutch Blitz, Catch a Phrase and THE PIANO!!!!!

This poor little one obviously was played out before too long. She fell asleep though there was plenty of laughter and other noise that could have awaken her.

I am so glad that we are able to get together! :) I love all of my friends! 

And I'm also glad that my dad is now Citizen Papa... :)

Do Hard Things Review

When I was 16 I would look at a book like this, sigh and say, "This looks like a boring book. I don't like reading books like this." I wish I had read this book then! It's so good!

Do Hard Things is a book that I highly recommend! It's a book to encourage teenagers to rise above this world's low expectations of us. It's a book that is full of good insight on doing hard things that will help you plan for the future. There's stories of rebelutionaries who are doing and have done hard things and are happy they are and have. I like this book because it's as if you are really talking to the authors and listening to them speak because they use wording that is easy to understand. This book is good for every teenager to read! It's so full of good, wholesome ideas! It also talks about the decay of this world's teens and of the expectations this world has of them. According to the world, teenagers are supposed to goof off and party like crazy but, really, they should be preparing for their future and working to make this world a better place to grow in.

Do Hard Things is an extremely good book and I hope every teenager who reads this post reads it! It will change your whole outlook on life and help you feel like you can do something worthwhile!

Thanksgiving Weekend 2010

This Thanksgiving we had a wonderful time!

The day before Thanksgiving my mom, sisters and I went up to Flagstaff and picked up my Grandma. :) I was so excited! When we headed up there Camp Verde was cold but it was only definite Fall weather, however, when we got to Flagstaff, it began snowing! It was so pretty! It made my mom start singing Christmas songs. hee hee!

Thanksgiving Day we had a family from church over and we ate, talked and had a little singing. The family sang a song in French for us so we sang one in Spanish for them. :) It was so fun! The little girls were all dressed as Native Americans and their little boy was too. They were cute. :)

The next day, we had two other families come up from Phoenix and we had lunch here at the house. Afterwards, we went to Montezuma Castle and Montezuma Well and hiked around and looked at books.

Today we are going to take my Grandma home. It has been so nice having her after not spending time with her in sooo long. :)
